Christopher 1,393
Hey everyone, I am pleased to announce that our Battlefield 2142 server is up and running. I had to switch to a different provider now, but it was for the best (otherwise, it wouldn't have been a RANKED server). Low on budget though, so it's a 32 slot server (that means 32 players can be on the server at the same time). At 50 players my computer starts to bitch, so it all works out in the end. You should see it in your server browser in-game. NO RULES - [TWAT] - Team of Weapons And Tactics is the name of the server. Enjoy! Note to TWAT Admins: If you plan on getting the game, PM me once you do. I'll then setup your admin account. See you on the battlefield!
Christopher 1,393
lol I see you and Sapper are 'co-op'ing a lot lately. Hope you're having fun!
ZONAR 0
yup and we are officially synced. we don't even have to count down to shoot at the same time anymore we just shoot practically simultaneously.
SAPPER 0
Thinking about getting it but that would be another game that wouldn't get played all that much.
Christopher 1,393
Well it's essentially the same thing as Battlefield 3, without the insane graphics. I was talking to one of the other admins at MIA and he was telling me how a lot of people play this instead of BF3 because they don't want to spend money upgrading their PC. Same thing, essentially, just a slightly older game. You guys should get it. It's between $10-$15 on Origin (EA's PC download client). Then we could all play. :) I also confirmed that they're still tracking stats for the game. That is, you can still rank up and unlock stuff.
SAPPER 0
Im not sure if my laptop could handle it. According to the origin website it might have the wrong chip set. So that wouldnt be any good to get it and it becomes a paper weight. :mercie_blink:
Christopher 1,393
Any program will report that your PC can't handle it if it's a chipset. That simply means your graphics card (GPU) is integrated into the processor (CPU). Can you take a screenshot of your PC details and upload it here? I'll take a look and tell you if you can run it or not. I have a chipset too. ;) To see your PC details, go to Start > Right-Click on Computer > Properties. Here's a screenshot of mine: (nothing to brag about, obviously) [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

Christopher 1,393
Your computer will run the game flawlessly. Your specs are better than mine. But my guess is that this is a desktop PC? Just goes to show those sites are often wrong/inaccurate. You should definitely get the game if you can. :)
SAPPER 0
No not desktop this is my laptop. I dont use a desktop except for a server man.

Christopher 1,393
Just checked. The GTX 460M runs Bad Company 2, which means it'll run 2142 like an angel. :D My computer doesn't even run Bad Company 2 well. Lags like a whore.
Gilly 148
Ill post my computer after i get home :D
Christopher 1,393
You'll post your computer's specs. Please don't try and post your computer. Your monitor might get damaged if you try. Not to mention it would be a lot of unnecessary trouble. ;)

If that's a laptop, well, I'll just shit myself. The fuck do you need 96 GB of RAM for?? I've seen people with 32 GB (already not so common) but 96?! Didn't know government agents got such kick-ass computers lol.
ZONAR 0
that our taxes are paying for.
Christopher 1,393
True. Fuckin' bulshit. If they get agents such good computers, prostitution should be legalized and I should be appointed one. That's what my taxes should go toward.
