When submitting an Incident Report, you will be prompted toward the end of the submission (on the Status tab) to indicate the report type. See the table below for a description of each and some examples.
Code | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
CR | Crime | An incident involving potential criminal activity, requiring investigation and possibly leading to charges (e.g., theft, assault). |
NC | Non-Crime | Situations that do not involve criminal offenses but still require police documentation or response (e.g., lost property, neighbor disputes). |
CI | Civil Issue | Matters primarily governed by civil law rather than criminal law (e.g., landlord-tenant disputes, small claims issues), but police presence may be requested for peacekeeping. |
AA | Agency Assist / Other Agency | Assisting another law enforcement or public safety agency (e.g., fire, EMS, other police departments). |
FIRE | Fire Service Response | Any incident related to fire service responses. |
EMS | Medical / Welfare Check | Health-related calls, welfare checks, or medical assists not resulting in criminal investigation. |
INFO | Information Only | Incidents documented for informational purposes only (no immediate enforcement or investigative action required). |
ADMIN | Administrative | Non-enforcement tasks such as internal paperwork, record updates, or community presentations. |
UNK | Unknown | Calls where the nature of the incident is unclear until further investigation (e.g., 911 hang-ups). |
