Hello,

With the development of Service Database 14, a lot of thought is being put in to ensure the utmost organized and stable system. Service Database 14 brings back the idea of the legacy Service Database to an all-new level, with the introduction of the Desktop, as well as an all-new delegated permission system that gives just the right access to just the right people. The authentication system integrates with your Organization Account or Member Services Account.

After the release date of Service Database 14, all official (non-auxiliary) members will be required to have an account, which will grant them access to Service Database 14, in addition to all other Member Services such as email, documents, calendar, YouTube integration, and more.

With the large member set of users that we will have, as well as the support for both the PlayStation Network and PC, organizing these users becomes a difficult task with the IT Department and can cause serious and substantial confusion in the long run. A common method for naming usernames that typically is fail-safe in most situations involves utilizing a person's last name and part of a person's first name. The new system could thus require Member Services Accounts to be in the format of:

First Name Initial + Last Name

So for instance, if your full name was John Andrew Smith, your username would be jsmith. Another method that would be even better, would be:

First Name Initial + Middle Initial + Last Name

So for instance, if your full name was John Andrew Smith, your username would be jasmith.

This would, however, require a change in Organization Policy regarding collection of your name. The policy, if set, would be along the lines of:

DURING THE APPLICATION PROCESS, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PROVIDE YOUR FULL FIRST AND LAST NAME. YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME ARE REQUIRED, IN FULL, FOR MEMBERSHIP AT THE NEW TEAM OF WEAPONS AND TACTICS AND ARE SOLELY HELD PRIVATELY IN ADMINISTRATIVE FILES. THIS INFORMATION IS REQUIRED FOR ADMINISTRATIVE RECORDS ONLY AND WILL NOT BE USED, SHARED, OR SOLD TO ANY ENTITY WITH OR WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. YOUR FULL NAME WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE TO AUTHORIZED ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL AND WILL NOT BE PUBLICLY DISPLAYED.

Also note that internally, only your first name and last name INITIAL are tied to your account, so sending emails will only display such information in their from field.

Your full name (first and last) will be located in the Service Database in a location accessible only to Founders, Co-founders, and Administrators. Miscellaneous staff members will not have access to such information.

All this being said, it would be against our will to do all this and mandate it without all of your input. Please read through this, cast your vote, and give your opinion. You can change your vote anytime during the duration of the poll. This poll will remain open until October 16, 2013.

** NOTE **

This does NOT apply to your forum username, which may be whatever desired.

Great! Surprised at the results. Figured there would be more people against it, but I'm glad there aren't.
