Server #18742 Upgrade

Greetings all PC users,

 

We're proud to announce that this February 2014, we will be upgrading Battlefield 3 server #18742 to from 24 to 32 slots. Some maintenance will be needed to cleanly perform the upgrade, so we do ask your patience. Most likely, the upgrade will be done when the server is empty, just to be on the safe side. During the maintenance window, we will be finalizing some alterations to the features we have now to hopefully provide a cleaner chat window for our players.

I like the input I'm getting here. Some things I can address as of now:

 

1). The votemap plugin has only two options; automatic trigger or manual trigger. The latter requires a server admin - with privileges to change maps - to trigger it. It's currently set to "automatic", since admins might not be in the game. It always triggers toward the end of a round.

 

2). A rank & stats feature will require further implementation via an SQL Database. I'll have to look into how exactly it will work and determine if it's worth the trouble. Different plugins have different issues and compatibility with other plugins, so I will have to do some preliminary testing on that. As of now, I will say that such a feature will probably come along further down the road.

 

3). Good news is, there's no advertisement on our server about us recruiting. Just some links to our website and a line that said those who'd help start the server would get special perks. I've removed that line at the time of this post.

 

4). Definitely some good ideas. Will look into implementing these very soon.

 

5). Looks like I'll have to get a better autobalancing system since the default doesn't work well, so thanks for reminding me of that.

 

Great ideas so far; will help reduce the stuff in chat and make the server experience even better! :D
