[NTWT] Battlefield 2142 Server #28762 - No Rules

Introduction

This game server is part of the New Team of Weapons and Tactics' Battlefield 2142 Restoration Project. For more information about this project, click here.

In essence, members interested in playing a more "stock" version of Battlefield 2142, including the Northern Strike expansion or the Deluxe Edition, can do so by using a custom game binary configured to connect to our privately hosted game and master servers. To participate, you will need an installed copy of Battlefield 2142— either from the original retail DVD or via Origin.

Please note that there are multiple versions of Battlefield 2142 in circulation. The New Team of Weapons and Tactics officially supports only the most current release, Version 1.51.

First-Time Steps for Connecting to the Server

1. Install Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2142: Northern Strike, or Battlefield 2142: Deluxe Edition on your computer.
   • Note: You must have administrator privileges to install the game.
2. Navigate to your game installation directory.
   • Common install locations include:
     • C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142
     • C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition
     • C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2142
     • C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition
3. Download and install the Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50 from our Downloads Center.
   • Important: This update must be installed before proceeding to the next step.
4. Download and install the Battlefield 2142 Update 1.51 from our Downloads Center.
   • Note: This should only be installed after installing Update 1.50.
5. Rename your existing bf2142.exe to bf2142.exe.old (or another backup name). This preserves the original executable for future use, if needed.
6. Download the NTWT Custom Binary for Battlefield 2142 (Patch 1.51).
7. Copy the downloaded bf2142.exe file into your installation directory.
   • If prompted, allow the file to overwrite the existing executable (or place it alongside your renamed original).
8. Launch the game using bf2142.exe or through your desktop/start menu shortcut.
9. At the login screen:
   • If you don’t already have an account on the NTWT network, click Create Account.
   • If you already have one, log in with your existing credentials.
   • Important notes:
     • Your original EA account credentials will not work unless manually recreated on our server.
     • You can choose any username, as long as it is not already in use.
     • Security Notice: Passwords are stored in plain text due to limitations of the emulation system. Use a password that is unique and not associated with any other accounts or services.
10. After selecting or creating your soldier, you will see a list of available servers under the Multiplayer menu. Feel free to join any of our official servers listed there.
