I just realized I only have the silver Aircraft Service Badge from Battlefield 2142. Apparently I never got the gold.

 

 

 

It requires:

 

  • 50:00 hours in an air vehicle
  • 35 kills with an air vehicle in one round

 

 

Just need that 35 kills which apparently I never got...FUCK! Gonna have to work on that soon. Might be a challenge seeing as I haven't played that game for some time.

 

 

 

I hope there's still servers running in that game... if there aren't... then I'll be damned.

My SWAT team was called today as there was a situation with a law enforcement officer. He was found involved with some serious people and was ready to do something he shouldn't have been doing, putting someone else's life in danger with his weapon.

 

 

 

My team and other uniforms tried talking him down, but it wasn't working. I had to setup about 350 meters away from a sniping position, part of standard protocol. The stand-off lasted only a short 18 minutes before he raised his weapon, at which point I was left no choice.

 

 

 

It was the first time I've ever had to shoot at my own. I hope it is the last.

 

You called in the final minutes of the stand-off, hence I couldn't talk.

 

 

 

Everyone ended up safe, but it was something I normally do not do. Civilians usually surrender when held at gunpoint by police, so this isn't something that happens regularly. It's been about 40 years since I was in the military; I haven't forgotten what it feels like, but the feeling of taking down someone for such reasons is still disturbing beyond the description of words.
