In case you haven't checked or busy, there have been "leaked" pictures of the BF4 online aspect of the game. Keep in mind that's it's in the Alpha stage so it might not look that good, but overall it's better than nothing.

 There's a total of  58 pictures I believe

edit:

-All the guns don't have the right names, not too worried though since im sure they're changing it later--not that hard to change a name of a gun :P

-Not a fan of the gun listing, basically telling how much damage/recoil/accuracy. Guess we don't need Symthic anymore. Not a problem really, but meh. Im sure all the guns will have that base damage like in BF3, but this time people will know it without going to a website

-Specs: Not really sure why it has to say if it's Offensive//Defensive ect. Pretty sure if it says Sprint, people will know it's for Offensive, not like you're just going to site in  corner with sprint on

I for one would like to see a better clan system in-game to be honest.

Thanks for that link --- never would have known lol.

I must say, I'm surprised. The specialization thing is weird...hope they change that. Overall, it seems to me that it might be a bit too early in its Alpha stage lol. I hope they don't over estimate their abilities and have to delay the release. The maps shown seem to barely be completed; it seems just the buildings were put in place and not many textures were applied. So I wonder when they actually released this alpha trial (looks like it's on XBox). Because if they show multiplayer footage like that, people might be disappointed :P, even though it's still a work in progress.

I do like the new map+compass they added. Even on my TV (65") I couldn't even read the compass fast enough.

Compare each gun feature, got tired of looking at Symthic every time :P

- Flags on the map instead of being on your screen from one side of the map at all times. You know how many times people got in that area and I couldn't even see them because of it.

-I heard the Super-Nova sun will be tuned down, THANK GOD!. Face it, that sun was so bright you couldn't see anyone that was near that direction. I understand when at first you look at the sun it's really bright, but your eyes do adapt from it after looking into for the whole game

Dislikes:

-Not sure if it's single player only, but doesn't really effect us Hardcore servers. THat one clip in the 20min demo of the guy pressing "Spot" and lite up about 5 guys by doing so.

-Blood on screen: Yes and No in a way. Hope it doesn't fill the screen like COD//Gears of War

-Dpad on the screen at all times. If it's just on the regular mode, it doesn't bother me. If it's on hardcore as well, i'd probably be mad

All stuff here is suject to change, but that's my imput on these pictures

Once again let me just say we have all been had, BF3 was nothing but really a beta for this, it is same rehash with different maps. They changed minor bit and bobs but nothing spectacular, that I see. So over all I think it is a waste of $60 and I was one of those that was suckered in....

Well, there's currently footage of BF4 up all over youtube from E3. From  there you can decide whether it is worth the buy or not.

I also find it funny that it says CZ-805 and shows the picture for the M16A3 below it, when the CZ-805 looks much more like a SCAR-L if anything.

That's the thing. The picture is wrong, but the gun he`s holding is right :P

It's mainly interesting to see there are some new guns, this could mean good things, as well as bad things. I'm hoping all of the guns in BF3 will be returning, along with the new ones, but I doubt that. My guess is that some guns from BF3 are returning, and some are being replaced by new ones. Theoretically, they could have all the old guns as well as new ones, but they would probably take the route of incorrectly naming them so they won't have to get any licenses or consent to use the weapons in the game.

I'm excited to see the Hawk Industries pump action, Scorpion EVO 3, and CZ805, but I'm worried that these have replaced weapons I already liked. I'm also annoyed that they went with the Ultimax 100 Mk5 instead of the Mk3, Mk2, heck, even the Mk8. I think the Mk5 looks so... Bland.

Chances are it's just a reskin of the M27IAR from BF3, in which case I hope they have the M27IAR as well as its reskin, would that be too much to ask? I understand it isn't easy to go and make a completely new model and add in all the stat values for a new gun, but if they're just putting a new texture over it, why not just offer a bunch of guns with the same stats that use a similar model? It's been done in games before, where a weapon's stats are identical, but they look different. There are even cases where they use the same wireframe/base-model and animations, but at least it's offering variety.

i gotta say after seeing the video from E3 i think it will def be worth it bc the online battle look to be more epic then ever b4. It appears that this will take place in an even more urban environment with sky scrapers and they seem to be collapsible too.

My first impression when I saw the footage was exactly like Sapper. It felt like Battlefield 3: Second Edition. But it looks like there's a few things I'm looking forward to:

  • Ability to reject a knife attack and knife them instead Though to be honest, this seems like something they may remove in the retail version. Much like they altered the knife animations from the BF3 Beta to the final version
  • Collapsible skyscrapers OK, so we've had collapsible buildings before. But maybe it'll be a bit more fun to watch such enormous structures collapse.
  • Commander mode So most of the PlayStation community (and probably many PC gamers) has never heard of commander mode. Well for those of you who've never heard of it, it's a fun mode and I'm sure I'll love it --- as long as they do it right. Commander mode was first featured in Battlefield 2 and was last featured in Battlefield 2142. It allows a single player on each team to command their team by spotting enemies from a birds-eye view camera, drop supply boxes which offer health, repairs, and ammo to nearby soldiers (yes, the enemy too -- so watch where you drop them!) and the ability to deploy friendly sonars, drones, and orbital artillery strikes from above. It was one of my favorite modes in Battlefield 2142. I have well-over 600 hours as a commander myself.
  • Two sights ability I'm actually looking forward to having two sights on my weapons. I'll probably use iron sights as the main and use a higher-end scope to the side. I'm actually interested in trying it out.
  • Titan Mode (not confirmed)
Titan mode was one of my favorite modes from Battlefield 2142. While this is not a confirmed gamemode, it does seem that the singleplayer footage took place on a ship described as a "titan".

There's probably other things to look forward to. But these are from the top of my head.

Swimming: Faster when you press the sprint button, and you can shoot your pistol now. I personally would like to see if it's just certain guns, especially since  you're allowed to go underwater in BF4

Tank Ammo: Now limited. Seems it refills when you kill someone, not 100% sure though

Spotting: Happy now you can't spam it 24/7 as well shoot at the same time. There's a delay when spotting and shoot Doesn't effect me since I play Hardcore.

Squad perks: Im confused by this one. There's a bar, but in those pictures above there a section on the perk. ANyways, I like it if the onl way you gain a perk is if you work as a team by capping flags and such

Knife: Cool that you can reject the knife, hopefully it's JUST for people who are looking at them and not being to somehow reverse it from behind.

Sights: As stated above

Maps//Flags About time when you're burning a flag, the damn thing isn't in the middle of the screen!. Easier to read the compass

"levolution": Pretty cool, guy pushed a button and put up those steal barracks or whatever on the bridge--need to get out of tank & push the button---good tactics

------------------------------------------------------------------

Dislikes:

Guns: If they don't have the real names on at least 80% of the guns, it'll be a bummer but won't bother me.

On-screen Icons: Still seeing icons from across the map of tanks/infantry...hopefully it's not hardcore.

C4 Recon: If the recon class gets C4, or every class for that matter--pretty mad about it then. Don't want "Balance", want each class to be unique

-----------------------------------------------------------------

All I can think of so far for the dislikes, game isn't near done really so I don't want to be picky.

Hopefully (Doubt it) but would be nice to see the PING on each game as well in-game player. Yes this is available for PC, but why not PS3/4

Ammo/Health packs: You now have small/large ammo/medkits. What the smaller one does is that you can slap it on a friendly and he can run and heal at the same time, instead of sitting around. Im guessing the larger one is just the same as in BF3

Guess you can shoot the tires now and the vehicle wll stop moving . Also, the sensor Recon balls are coming back, and now you can have incinerator grenade grenades, not sure if they said it's for Infantry or Vehicles, think he said Vehicles....but if you want use it against vehicles, why not infantry since it's fire--- I Don't care

**Green laser sight**---They might change it back to red, they're not sure yet

They're adding faction used items. If you're US, you get US items, China--china items, RUS--RUS items ect.. Yes it's in BF3 (Sorta) also, but now they're making is strict

I see. Kind of like in 2142. You couldn't use other team's weapons unless you picked them up from a fallen enemy.

I wish they'd also tune the revive system. In 2142, you couldn't get revived if you were killed (by tank shells for example). Only if you were critically wounded (by regular guns, etc).

I'm hoping they'll allow you to use the other faction's gear after a lot of progression, like they did with the M16A3/AK74M. I'd hate to end up liking a specific weapon and only be able to use it on a certain team. I also hope they keep the green lasers. And I bet if they're adding incendiary grenades there's going to be some kind of screwed up restriction on them. Incendiary grenades are one of those things most games have in the "too-much-fun" section, and they always come out crappier than how they actually function. Nothing more entertaining than throwing a grenade into a camper's nest and watching him turn into a screaming inferno.

More pictures released, this is just the loadout+some gameplay--interesting I must say since they added a "Shank" , as well C4 now for the recon. Pretty mad if all the classes can use c4, especially don't understand why a recon would be the only one using it.

WHat does it ean by "Kits". Is it a pre-set thing where you can make your favorite kit up so you don't have to change them manually every time you die or so.

Seems it tells you now how much each attachment helps by filling up X section with a green bar. Hopefully they still make it so every attachment has a downgrade towards something else (ie BF3).

Green laser- Good for far away shots, sucks at lose range since it won't "Blind them"

Red--well, same in BF3 basically. Spotted if using for far range, blinds at close (and far)

-Flashbangs now in the game

-Pictue of a female soldier. Hopefully they're not "overpowered" in the sense that they're going to be really small/skinny....or else I wouldn't be shocked if all players pick them for the advantage :P

-Not sure if DICE i just testing some stuff out, but... if you have X amount of bullets left in a gun and you reload, you'll lose those bullets that were remaining in the round. So if you have 27 bullets left out of 20(or 31), you just wasted 20bullets. Also, you run out of Ammo more so in BF4 than BF3.

- Can't spawn and shoot right away, there's about a 1-2 second delay on it so you're not invincible when spawning and get the advantage

This game more and more is looking interesting. A handful of "features" from Battlefield 2142 are returning here:

  • C4 is available only to the Recon class. If it is, it's the same thing from BF2142. In BF2142, C4 was an unlock for the Recon class. You could potentially earn it in one promotion from what I remember (The unlock system was not hard-set like in BF3 -- explained more below)
  • As with C4 being available only to recon, so is the Claymore. In BF2142, the C4 and claymores were unlocks for the Recon class. Claymores were the next available unlock, if you chose to unlock that instead of anything else
  • Commander mode returning. By far my favorite mode of the game. I spent over 600 hours of gameplay in commander mode lol.
  • No left-over ammunition. In BF2142, if you reload your weapon when ammunition still remains in the cartridge, all ammunition remaining in the cartridge is discarded. Unlike in BF3 where you get to keep the remaining ammunition. I remember when sniping in BF2142 with one of the sniper rifles (which only held 3 bullets per magazine), you had to be very conservative of your ammo. If you missed one shot, you only had two more chances before you had to reload and potentially lose your target. Furthermore, there was no bipod in the game. So scope sway had took experience to be dealt with.

The unlock system was also far more interesting and doable than the one in BF3. While the unlock system in BF3 is hard-set (you don't get to choose your unlocks), the unlock system in BF2142 is flexible. Each class consists of two unlockable primary weapons, each followed by a tree of three gadgets in each tree. You had to unlock the bottom gadgets in order to get the later ones. You had to unlock all gadgets in one tree in order to obtain the primary weapon in that particular tree. So if you wanted a particular primary (eg: the Zeller-H Advanced Sniper Rifle), you would have to select the claymore first, a higher-power scope second, and then a scope stabilizer (which allowed for a momentary halt in all sway movement). Thus you could acquire the advanced sniper rifle in the first four ranks, if you really wanted to. Each promotion you earned granted you one unlock. You could choose your unlock right when you got the promotion, or if you needed time to think, you could wait and choose it whenever you'd like -- there was no time limit or expiration on your unlock selection.

While we obviously don't know if the unlock system is more flexible, it seems there are a number of small "features" that used to be part of BF2142. Some of the features actually will make gameplay a bit more challenging in some areas (reload only when you need to, etc). I guess we'll see what happens.

I know this is dating myself, but why dont game makers, do like the Original Rainbow Six, if you had a mag with 5 rounds left and reloaded it saved the 5 rounds in that mag, you carried a set amount of mags and after you reloaded so many times you would shuffle back to the ones you have used already, So you only ever got what you brought in the game.

It would be nice if they did that. Don't see why not.

I actually am excited that C4 and Claymores are coming back to the Recon kit. Makes sniping a bit more comfortable.

Meh. In BF3 I love my support class as well taking one for the team to blow up Tanks (ONLY Tanks I use C4 for). Don't really use my recon kit unless Im trying to level up assignments or something :(

I know what you mean.

But this highly reminds me of the BF2142 days of sniping. It allows recon players some protection from dogtag-hungry people as when on high buildings, all you need is a claymore right at the top of the ladder. Then anyone who came up the ladder would be instantly killed if they ignored the claymore (it would only kill you if you got off of the ladder). Snipers did that all the time in 2142, including myself. It gave me a sense of confidence that I wouldn't have to worry about some guy trying to sneak up on me all the time.

I can see how some people like it in the support class but there were too many times when it would piss me off. Some guy could *easily* run up the stairs on a map (say Metro), throw some claymores along the stairs and place some C4 right in front of his level stairs and have a hay day for an entire round. Squads would run up to try and eliminate him, but with an unlimited supply of C4, claymores, and grenades, it often was a difficult task unless you were lucky enough to get an M320 in there in time.

At least Recons can't abuse it. They did do that stuff in 2142, but they could only do it four times max since they didn't have unlimited ammo (unless they had a friendly support soldier with them).

But for people like you who used the C4 for vehicles and stuff, I can see your disappointment. I have no sympathy for people who used it all the time on infantry. Just like the M320. I keep running into players on the PC who've got f*ckin' 400 service stars with the M320...that's like 40,000 kills...
