Game Description
The year is 2142, and the dawn of a new Ice age has thrown the world into a panic. The math is simple and brutal: The soil not covered by ice can only feed a fraction of the Earth's population. Some will live, most will die. In Battlefield 2142, players choose to fight for one of two military superpowers in an epic battle for survival, the European Union or the newly formed Pan Asian Coalition. Armed with a devastating arsenal of hi-tech assault rifles, cloaking devices and sentry guns, players also do battle using some of the most imposing vehicles known to man. Massive battle Mechs wage fierce combat on the ground, while futuristic aircraft rule the skies. When facing one of these new behemoths, players need to use their wits and an arsenal of new countermeasures like EMP grenades to level the playing field.

Here at the New Team of Weapons and Tactics, members can participate in any of the in-game provided game modes, whether conquest or otherwise.
Official servers for the game shutdown on June 30, 2014 after Glu Mobile announced in April 2014 that they would be closing down GameSpy servers, the services responsible for offering multiplayer functionality for a number of games, including Battlefield 2142 itself. Thanks to official New Team of Weapons and Tactics support, the game can still be played with our custom binary that has been modified to connect to our custom master servers, enabling players to make new accounts and have their in-game progress tracked via our own ranked servers.

Third-Party Support
Alternatively, the game can also be played online through the Gameranger service and a community-run project called the 2142 Reclamation Project. The New Team of Weapons and Tactics does not provide any support for third-party methods of playing the game, but members are welcome to play the game with any methods that are possible.
