Hello everyone,

 

I have a series of importance announcements relating to our game servers. This announcement has content for all supported platforms, so please read it accordingly.

 

Battlefield 3 Server (PC) - 38765

 

We now have an active BF3 server for PC players. It has a maximum of 24 slots which is upgradeable in the future should the server become popular. I am posting it on a monthly term for now and might increase it later it it's popular.

 

When BF4 comes out, this server (if it is still running) will likely be shutdown when we will then get a BF4 server.

 

Battlefield 3 Server (PSN) - 18765

 

Our Battlefield 3 server on the PlayStation 3 is up for renewal in late October. Unfortunately, this will no doubt be a tough decision to make, whether to renew the server or not. Battlefield 4 will be coming out two days before the server's expiry (renewal date) and renewing the server for another $60 (for 3 months) is a big decision. We have no idea if it will remain popular and further, how many people will still be playing BF3. Those who preordered Battlefield 4 will, no doubt, be spending their time over there rather than in BF3. Sure there's still players in BF3 but the question is, how many? I for one an away from the PlayStation Network and thus have little ability and reason to continue to support it. Our admins and staff (particularly Iceman, element, and Zonar) have worked hard to get our server to be popular. What to do is a tough decision.

 

Currently, I have about $20 available to go ahead with the renewal. With some help to bring my server funds to $60, I'll then be able to renew it for another 3 months.

 

I know October is further down the road, but before you know it, it will be there. That's why I'm making this announcement now, so that there is plenty of time for everyone to think about it. Any memo is appreciated; if you'd like to help, the easiest way would be for you to purchase a PlayStation Network Prepaid Card and send me the redemption code. Alternatively, a donation through PayPal is also acceptable, as I can purchase a PSN redemption code online. Do note that in order for me to purchase a redemption code online, the amount must at least be $20.

 

That said, there is still plenty of time to think about it and thus make arrangements, if possible. If we are short on funds by the beginning of October, I will post a friendly announcement as a reminder to everyone that the server will be ending shortly.

 

If the time comes and there are no additional funds except the $20 already  in my account, I will extend the server for one more month (30 days), unless everyone here decides that it be spent otherwise on a BF4 server. Not everyone is getting BF4, so do keep that in mind as well.

 

I strongly encourage everyone to discuss what their plans are rehearsing BF3 and/or BF4. If enough people want to purchase a BF4 server, we can. But PSN money is non transferable, so it would have to be under my account, if you want my help. Do note that I have not preordered BF4 for PS3, so that might introduce another set of issues.

I didn't pre-order BF4, but if I'm buying the game it'll most likely be when the PS4 comes out instead. Pretty hard to say though, since a lot of other games will be out from Sept-Nov that people will most likely have a hard time playing 1 game.

 

If I were you, I would personally just wait it out and get a 1month instead of 3. No point in spending $60 for a 15day server really....that's just me though.

 

I know i'll be busy playing NHL14(sept 10) GTA (Sept 15?) Watch Dogs, BF4, Batman Origins, Assassin's Creed.

I hear you. I'd personally prefer to just to the 1 month if there aren't enough funds in the end. That way everyone can enjoy it a little longer before it gets decommissioned. Plus, as you said, I'm sure others will have other games to attend to.

Yeah, that works. It also depends on how popular the server still is, etc.

 

Pissed me off yesterday...I bought the BF3 server for PC and then Ayer spending an hour wing it up, BAM! EA started having problems with their master servers. -_-
