Extender 2008 R2, the second release of the Extender 2008 series, is a multi-purpose extension tool for Grand Theft Auto IV. With Extender 2008 R2, users are given additional control over their copy of Grand Theft Auto IV with easy access to various in-game options, abilities, tools, snap-ins, and more. Included with Extender 2008 R2 is the all-new Extender Security System - designed to aid in basic countermeasures for unranked multiplayer gaming in Grand Theft Auto IV.

Extender 2008 R2 was heavily re-written and this time, contrary to Extender 2008, has been optimized for performance.

Download

Authorized users can download and test Extender 2008 R2 by clicking on the appropriate link below:

In short (as with the original Extender 2008):

  • Professional and Enterprise editions are for members of the New Team of Weapons and Tactics.
  • Standard edition is for anyone / the general public.
Warning

Please download the correct version based on the circumstances above. In other words, if you are not a member of the New Team of Weapons and Tactics, download the Standard Edition. This software uses a licensing system and will not function properly if you do not have a license. The Standard Edition is automatically licensed to everyone and thus has the license "built-in", so-to-speak.

Installation & Requirements

Prerequisites
  • You must have a license to utilize and test this software. This is not to be taken lightly or as a joke --- the software will not work without a license. Any attempts to circumvent the licensing system will result in additional undesirable and irreversible harm being done to the system on which this software is installed on. This is
    by design
    and is
    not
a bug. This software could be easily abused if gotten into the hands of the wrong person. This alone is one of the very reasons the licensing system exists and advanced countermeasures are taken when users attempt to circumvent and/or tamper with the system. The very reason this software is posted on a public website without any password-protected archive or otherwise hidden link is because the licensing and anti-circumvention system has been thoroughly put through various tests without failure. Disclaimer:
No personal identifiable information, either in whole or in part, is collected with this software in its entirety.
  • You must have the C++ ScriptHook from Aru. This is not included with the download to minimize file size; all users who have used or tested the original Extender 2008 should already have this file.
  • You must remove any previous versions of this software before attempting to install a newer version. Failure to do so may result in unexpected behavior.
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition or later operating system. This software is compatible with either 32-bit or 64-bit versions of Windows starting from Windows Vista.

Extender Security System (ESS)

The Extender Security System (ESS) will automatically take care of any players known to cause trouble in multiplayer game sessions in Grand Theft Auto IV. An non-modifiable database is contacted once the system is enabled and all known problematic players are in the database. Additional players not in the database may be dealt with appropriately by utilizing the Blacklist File.

Additionally, should the user find a cheater locate a cheater during an in-game session, no need to exit and reload the game ? the blacklist file can safely be opened, edited, and saved to the user?s personal preferences. Then, the user can use the Reload Database Definitions snap-in for the newly defined definitions to take effect.
  • Enable/Disable Extender Security System: [ LCtrl + LAlt + T ] Use this snap-in to enable or disable the Extender Security System. By default, the Extender Security System is enabled once joining a network game session.

  • Reload Database Definitions:

[ LCtrl + LAlt + R ] This snap-in will force a refresh of all blacklist definitions for the Extender Security System.

Blacklist File

Extender 2008 R2 comes with a blacklist file that will automatically "take care" of any players found in the ESS_Blacklist.txt
on-sight. The file must be in the format as follows:

File Name:

ESS_Blacklist.txt

Contents:

avoidPlayer1,
avoidPlayer2,
avoidPlayer3,
avoidPlayer4,
etc,
<<ESS-END>>

with the following rules:

<ol style="list-style-type: decimal">[*]Every player name must end with a comma ( , ) and a line return.
[*]The rule above applies to all players in the file, in addition to the last player (in the example above: etc,
).
[*]The file must end with the phrase <<ESS-END>>
on a line by itself, with no comma.
</ol>
For best practice in add players to the Blacklist File, modify the provided ESS_Blacklist.txt
as appropriate.

F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions)

How do I know if I have a license to use this software?

If you were given a direct link to this thread by an authorized New Team of Weapons and Tactics technician or Chief Technology Officer, you will certainly have a license for it. Conversely, if you were given the link by some "friend-of-a-friend", there are no guarantees that you have a license for the software. Nonetheless, users who attempt to use the software will be notified with a message that they do not have a valid license and as a result, the software will not function.

The licensing system is heavily server-sided, so if you have a license, there is typically nothing that needs to be done on your end (the client side).

But will my computer be at risk for using the software without a license?

No. This software does not affect your system and will solely not function without a license.
